In response to the comment about spirited charge et al, I'd recommend items (or other ways) that will let you shrink your mount down to medium and yourself down to small so that you can fit in places better and actually use some attacks. You might want to try chatting with the DM about it too and asking if you can retrain your feats to something you can actually use more often.

If you're stuck with the mount, get the horse a Dex bonus to 15 (see the MiC for rules about items for different creatures and in different slots) then have it take Fleet of Foot assuming it has Run. That should allow you enough maneuverability to charge more often. If it has Endurance already, Steadfast Determination might be worthwhile for it.
