I've been toying with the idea of having an interplanar tournament, where different planes send their teams to compete for the grand price of Ring of Three Wishes. This would be a 14th-level adventure, with intrique on and off the arena. First I was thinking about simple gladiatorial combat, but I'd like to add some rules that the combat would have the following features: - Magic and supernatural powers must be used creatively - All physical skills are needed (but not required) on the arena (how often do you need Balance anyway?!?) - Fighting would get (bit) more tactical - Unusual circumstances would make fighting more interesting - Different roles (personally I'm dying to add goalkeeper! Personal fixation!) - Fighting would be non-leathal, more or less - Four-men teams would be ideal, so that the players can form a single team - Yellow cards and red cards for fouls, also possibility to break rules unintentionally - Two 1-minute rounds. I'm already writing the rules and I'm going publish them here for a review (hopefully someone will take a look). The challenge here is to make sensible rules. I think simplicity is the key here. I'm not thinking of making a Blood Bowl-clone... But something along the lines of Salute of the Jugger would be nice; not too complicated, but a fresh chance.
