[QUOTE="Stormtower, post: 4573632, member: 43631"] I'm running more and more 3.5, and less 4E, as the months roll on past the initial buzz of 4E's release. With the economy as it is, I can't afford to subscribe to DDI or keep up with the release schedule of 4E splats, and I am hesitant to hop back on that purchasing treadmill. This, combined with the end of Living Greyhawk and the ill-conceived (IMO) moving of DDXP from Arlington, VA (my backyard) to Fort Wayne, IN probably signals the end of my involvement in the RPGA for the time being. I remain merely lukewarm to 4E, despite its innovations at making the game easier to run, and it has failed to capture the attention of my home group. I have dived back into my homebrew, Gaia's Dream, with both feet. Last year saw the end of two highly successful branches of that campaign (see the wiki logs for details in my .sig if you're interested), and the "Azarr Kul's Ambition" PCs from my combined Slaughtergarde/RHoD branch are now back at it with a vengeance, having acquired lands and titles in the Valley of Obelisks and the Elsir Vale. I filled out my collection of Dungeon Crawl Classics and ran a horribly bloody, tragic and dark campaign in Goodman's World of Aereth (DCC 1, 26, 5, 18 were the featured adventures) from Feb 08 through Sept 08, which ended in a near-TPK and utter failure on the part of the heroes. Good times! I intend to run Gaia's Dream for years to come, as that campaign has always been envisioned by me as a 3x3x3 complete story arc. The last campaign, "Falling Stars, Rising Hope" effectively signaled the end of the first 3 chapters of the story. From time to time, I intend to take time off from Gaia's Dream to run DCCs and other Core-only, old-school stuff such as Rappan Athuk Reloaded (insert evil laugh and Abyssal prayer to Orcus here), as well as the Pathfinder adventure paths. I will not be converting to the PFRPG, but will continue to subscribe to the modules and adventure paths as I have come to enjoy reading about Golarion and have always loved Paizo's stuff. I just don't need the rules tweaks of Pathfinder to "fix" my 3.5E. Were I employed at the moment, I'd certainly still be keeping up with 4E as I pledge one year of support to the new system in order to hedge my bets. However, I'm not in a position to keep up with WotC's aggressive release schedule and don't personally feel that DDI is worth the money (not that I have it to spend at the moment, irregardless).
