3.5 in shops Holland vs USA

Outcast

First Post
The 3.5 revised edition is for sale this week in Holland , lots of shops are selling the 3 new books. This i find a bit strange because i dint hear someone who has them in the usa. And with all respect they were made there but we have em. :)

funny but i had to mention it.

The dutch spawn.

The only reason I can see to explain this is that WotC shipped books overseas to get to other countries "on time" for the original July 18th release date...but didn't really emphasize that release date very much.

Is it meant to be July 18? Coz there is a shop here locally that says they are getting the books in July 7th and selling them from that date.

The distributors in Holland for WOTC products are idiots (from what I've heard and experienced). They can sometimes be months late in getting products to the stores.

It's a welcome surprise that they got the books out to the stores already, but wager that I if they were instructed by WOTC to not let stores sell the books until the 18th, they probably forgot it completely.

Never had any problems with books being late. My FLGS always has all the new books 2 weeks early. THeir service and delivery rate is great.

I'm really very content with my FLGS.

The distributors in Holland are pretty good guys, of course sometimes there's a screw up, and they aren't as technically advanced as i would like, but idiots, no. You have to know how to communicate with them and who to talk to. The D&D products getting late to the stores last year wasn't their fault, it was a european wide problem (as you would have known if you had checked around), WotC (more specifically Hasbro) was being difficult with their liscences etc.

As for us getting things early this time, the dutch distributor has e-mailed all the stores to suspend selling the v3.5 books until July the 18th. I'm sure that a couple of stores will not comply, i on the other hand will...
