Well, I've just picked up my copies of the three books  I've not got the chance to look through in detail yet because I'm still at work for another three hours, but I had a quick flip through the PHB to see if there was any details that stands out which I'd not seen mentioned. 1. I don't think I'd noticed this before, but the Ranger has lost "polymorph" from his 4th level spell list. Presumably even with the reduction of effect in the polymorph spell this was considered to make him too effective as a fighter! Summon Nature IV can produce a medium elemental now though, which is better than before (used to be Summon V only) 2. Protection from Evil clarifies it's protective effect slightly (enchantment/charms and enchantment/compulsions with an element of continuing control). Where does this leave power word stun/blind I wonder? More detailed reading is probably necessary! 3. The lines behind the text seem even more pronounced this time round, I really think it hurts legibility. 4. Losing Endure Elements as a DR vs energy spell is a big hit IMO and I don't think I'll be using that when I convert. The old version allows some risks in very hot/very cold conditions (the 1d6 might come up a 6) while also providing a practical benefit to the caster. It has been a vital part of my sorcerers armoury and flavour since her very beginning, and most of the things that she did back then would have been impossible without endure elements (e.g. using burning hands to set the grasslands alight and then hiding amidst the burning flames). 5. Thank goodness they have the lesser/standard/greater versions of spells together now! So much easier to look things up. 6. It is a shame that the opportunity wasn't taken to replace some of the worst elements of the original artwork - for instance, the race lineup which bears no resemblance to the actual ability modifiers which the races have, and the weapons pictures which include some really strange images. Anyhow, that's what struck me on my first glance through, just picking up things which reflect on characters I have or DM for. I'll write more later, as I get reading. Cheers
