Hmmm... Wonder if they caught wind of our own Q&A session and decided to let the cat out the bag a bit earlier...

Oh well. Get your DMG and MM questions ready...

Agreed guys, don't bother with phb questions, pound at dmg and mm questions and we can really round out this stuff.

Pure Wizards marketing machine on overdrive. Even the people who received their advanced copies and are taking questions from the posters on this board are unwittingly endorsing the product.

That's corporate greed for ya. :D

What's next? They're going to sell this stuff to kids using ice cream trucks?!?!!!

Oh, wait. That's the truth anti-smoking commercial. ;)

Could someone ask this question please...

Hi all! :)

I won't be able to make that chat tonight, but I was wondering if someone herein, who was attending would proffer a question about the Monster Manual I have been curious about for months:

"Have the damage modifiers for size been changed, and if not why do monsters such as the Pit Fiend and Barbed Devil deal twice the base damage of their 3.0 incarnations*."

*Assuming the 3.5 Pit Fiend and Barbed Devil stats are correct.

Thanks in advance.

Incidently here are the comparisons:

Barbed Devil v.3
Claw 2d4+3

Barbed Devil v.3.5
Claw: 2d8+6

Pit Fiend v.3
Claw: 1d6+7
Wing: 1d4+3
Bite: 2d6+3
Tail Slap: 2d4+3

Pit Fiend v.3.5
Claw: 2d8+14
Wing: 2d6+7
Bite: 4d6+7
Tail Slap: 2d8+7

Hate to ruin the party, but I don't think we will be getting the kind of info we want (and are getting from Roytheodd and Shadowstar) at the chat, based on what Andy Collins said on his messageboard:

"Just to give y'all a heads-up, here's a sampling of the type of questions that we probably *won't* be answering:

"Are there any changes to [insert my favorite spell/feat/magic item]?"

There are simply too many of these questions to handle in a format like this. Just calm down, you'll know all the answers in a month.

"Why didn't you fix [insert problem that I have with the rules]?"

The answer's probably "because we didn't think it was a problem, based on the feedback we'd received and our experiences with the game." Remember, though, until you actually see the new rules, you don't know exactly what we have or haven't done (regardless of what you may read on various message boards).

"Can you tell me everything that's different?"

Uh, no. I'd like to go home at some point.

On the other hand, questions about the goals, theory, and execution of the project, the kinds of challenges we faced (both from a design and a business standpoint), and other broad topics are great.

Anyway, I've been trying for nearly ONE HOUR to get into Wizards Presents, and I can't. Their system is the most goddamawful I've ever tried, and I've tried my first chatroom 14 years ago. It won't let me access Wizards Presents from the Emporium; I've been said I had to access it from the Lobby, but when I try to access the Lobby, nothing happens either.

[edit:] at last I've found my way. I had to exit to IRSP, then to Lobby, then to Wizards Presents. Couldn't have been simpler...
