D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Sorcerers and Multiple Metamagic Feats

The PHB talks about Sorcerers and Bards using Metamagic feats on a spell with a standard action casting time as a full-round action (as opposed to a spell with the casting time of 1 round).

My question is this; How long would it take a Sorcerer to use Empower and Maximize on a single spell like fireball? Would it still just be a full-round action or would it take two full-round actions in order to complete?

The text seems somewhat ambiguous to me on this point. Thank you in advance to Hypersmurph who will more than likely be the one to answer this. In case somebody beats him to the punch, thank you as well. :D

Uh, okay :) What makes you say that?

Unless it's changed since 3.0, it's still only a full-round action, no matter how many Metamagic feats you apply.

I believe there's an entry in the Main FAQ that covers it.

It is because I notice you answer a lot of the rules questions quickly on this board. You seem to have a firm understanding of the rules.

It was a compliment. :p
