Mike Mearls is a great lover of Greyhawk and very well-informed about its lore. As someone alluded to earlier, he has made some interesting comments during a DragonTalk interview and elsewhere about how he thinks some of the elements that make Greyhawk unique were not served well through the campaign box set/sourcebook model, which obscured the unique elements and rendered Greyhawk into a setting akin to the Forgotten Realms. I thought those comments were interesting and I think it would be fascinating if they could delve into Greyhawk in a way that is unique if that method would communicate some elements special about the setting that would not be served well by a standard book. That being said, I am simply hoping that Spelljammer and Dark Sun will be included. If they want to combine Spelljammer and Planescape, that's fine by me, but the feel of the Illithid and Elven empires seem different than the Planescape factions, but if it is done well, that's fine. But, Spelljammer always appealed to me from the day it went on sale and I got it and started running adventures in wild space. It seemed like a unique contribution to the game that drew from all manner of settings and developments over the years. I have been hoping that the ship combat rules in Ghosts of Saltmarsh were also going to serve as a way to prepare for Spelljammer, with its emphasis on ship-to-ship combat.
