3-D Adventure set...

I suppose "we" have known about the Caverns of the Underdark set since WotC announced their Rise of the Underdark marketing campaign at the beginning of April. If you click on the "Games" tab, you'll see Caverns of the Underdark listed there, along with three underdark-themed game mats, also from Gale Force Nine.

I note that the titles of the three Dungeon Maps seems to have changed since that page was put up. WotC has them listed as "Sanctum of Lolth", "Fungal Cavern", and "Drow Wizard's Chamber", but GF9 has them listed as "Temple of Lolth", "Caverns of the Underdark" and "Drow Sanctum" instead.

I'm a fan of GF9's line of D&D accessories, so I'm glad it has done well enough for them to try a 3D terrain set. I hope they make a few more these sets, although I think I'd prefer pre-painted plastic terrain over the resin that the Adventure Set is made from.

I didn't get excited about the tokens, and the game mats are cool, but too expensive to collect (for me, plus I have all the poster maps they are based from). But I like the idea of terrain pieces! I hope this will be the first of many "3D Adventure Sets"!
