Date: 2100 Anouncment by Andrea Collins, Ed Stark jr, and Danny Noonan: Mages of the Coast is proud to present D&D 30.5, a revision to the most popular RPG on Earth! Is this a new edition? No, it is only a revision. The major things are not changing: Base Attack, Base Spellcasting, Creature Types, the 40 classes -- all the familiar things will stay the same. So what is changing? Well, many classes and spells are being tweaked, along with new e-art, and 25.78587565% new content, some of it from the splatminidiscs, and some is entirely new. Anything specific? The Player's Data File will have a a large percentage of revised spells, ranging from a more reasonable Haste, to a redone Polymorph, to a more deadly Cruciatus Curse. The fire and forget system will not be returning, of course. The realistic battle system sim will have tweakes, so the data files of the WHO will auto-update the crit charts. All 65 abilities (strength, power, luck, dexterity, IQ etc.) remail the same. The Dungeon Master's Guide will have 83478 new magic items, and most will be revised. There wil also be 100 new prestige classes. The paladin PrC will now be able to turn it's Special Mount into a sword for 2 hours per level. The Monster Manual will include more habitat info, as well as chess grand master level tactics. The DM will no longer need to pretend he has a 30 in INT... Will this be free for old users? No, but old users may download the D&D 30.5 patch with a %10 discount. Is there any change to the ranger? Well... In 30.5 there is no ranger. Yeah, you got that right. NO ranger. It doesn't have a Virtual Die 8, or spells, or favored Creature Types, because there is no ranger! ha ha ha! What about other rule data, such as Tome, Blood, Leaf, Rune & Wind, or Fist, Leg, Sword, Tail & Fin? As always, the core data will change your other files, so all skills, feats, and qualities will be correct per 30.5. Nice. Will Molly Cook's Handbook Player's be corrected as well? Only if you want it to. Is there anything else? Yeah. The new rules will support the use of fantasy Holograms to a greater exent than ever before. Thanks! Don't mention it.
