In the wastes of Athas, a lone rider protects himself and his crodlu mount, from one of the many scavengers...no need to waste effort and precious water, no need to fight...not when your mind can bend even the will of a scorpion to your bidding!

The rider is experienced, no need to panic, as panic is a dangerous thing indeed in the wastes. So he calmly deals with the threat.

made in Vue7infinite, Poser/DAZ3D for creatures, post work in Photoshop
colours are deliberate, Athas, the world of Dark Sun, has often been said to have olive green skies, or orange....so went with green this time

Well basically I buy or get everything, bar my Spelljammer ships n' some other bits I build
I have tons of Poser content I've collected over the years, the crodlu rider for example, is Michael 4, with with a mixture of The Scout (from DAZ3D) and Apache (from Poserworld) for clothes.
The "crodlu" is actually a "tawhak" creature form DAZ3D, but very like a crodlu indeed.
The scorpion and Vultures are from DAZ3D too
(I spend about all of what Money I have on D&D and Poser/3D stuff lol).

Put 'em together, posed, added textures/hair in Poser. Imported into Vue, built the scene, heavily tweaked the materials of the Poser folk.
Ral and Guthay, the moons are actually Mars and Venus, tweaked


If you had ot hand build EVERYTHING, rather than buy/import/adapt pre-built, each scene would take many months :/
