They missed out damage rolls, for example.  They missed out people spending 20 minutes deciding what to do.  They missed out rules arguments.  Lots of stuff about D&D got missed out!  This was just to speed the plot along; that would not add anything for the average viewer.  I felt it portrayed the important thing - a bunch of people having fun - pretty well.  They all seemed to be enjoying themselves; it didn't even come across as "too geeky"  - I think that if I wasn't a gamer, I'd think "that looks like fun!" when I saw that episode.</blockquote>
