Many WotC big wigs have already said that this is 4th Edition, not 4.0, and that they will NOT do a 4.5. They learned their lessen the first time.

Agreed. 3.5 hurt WotC more than it helped. It killed 3.0 sales (until 3.5 came out), it ruined good will with d20 publishers (and thus ushered more OGL) and it left a lot of players cold.

If I see a 4.5, I'm done.

Following the 4E announcement, I overheard some WotC types already talking about speeding up the schedule and releasing 4.5 in 1st or 2nd quarter 2010.

Umbran is nicer than I am. My tolerance for threads that fan the flames and make things more difficult? Zero!
