My own (maybe impossible) hope is for 4E and 3E to get equal billing, if you can call it that. The forums existing in parallel when necessary, or together as one when practical. But that's just me dreaming my dreamy dreams. The rules forums: I would imagine there would be a Rules category, then you would have 4E, 3 & 3.5 E, Older editions of D&D (if necessary), and Other Games (including D20 & OGL) (if necessary) -- (but really, who is having in-depth rules discussions about older editions or non-D&D games here, and if they are could they just take place in the General forum? -- I see these being virtual ghost-towns...). Similar situation for house rules. General discussion: I think general should be a place for folks to talk about any edition of D&D and any game they want, with the exception of rules and house rules. Maybe that means folding the D20/OGL games back into General? Dunno on that one. Special area for 4E non-rules discussion -- I see this being a blazing hot, very active area of discussion and I could also see this discussion pushing out any other threads very quickly. So maybe there needs to be a 4E "general" area that's not rules-specific? Maybe just for a few months until the "new" wears off? Do like RPG.net and call it a "spotlight" forum with the expectation that it might later get folded back into General? (edit: Duh, like it is now. Me smart. :) So I guess just keep that but later when we have actual rules to discuss, send 4E rules to a 4E rules forum). I dunno, it's definitely tricky!
