And it is that hard to just link it? http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/206323-e6-game-inside-d-d.html :hmm: On topic: I think 4th edition handles this well enough without a fix like E6. E6 tries to rein the explosive scaling of 3rd edition / d20, something that 4th edition handles more gracefully. 4th edition scales in a more-or-less linear fashion, with a lot less difference between builds compared to 3rd edition. - In 4th edition, attacks and defenses of a 30th level character are roughly 30 points higher than of a 1st level character. In 3rd edition, the maths is a lot more open. - In 4th edition, PCs get more attacks and deal a lot more damage per attack, but the number of rounds needed to take down a monster of equal level is about the same. - In 3rd edition, the higher you go, slashing off monster hit points to kill them becomes less effective than outright save-or-die spells. In 4th edition, this shift does not happen. Status effects are still important, but they provide a tactical advantage and don't remove you from the fight. - 3rd edition had many spells that allow you to avoid combats and plot elements. The ritual system puts a much harder cap on those things.
