Nice to know you have enough class and maturity to degrade to name-calling :\ I never specifically said I would...I merely implied that I might. You think I'm dumb enough to admit to doing it? Hah! Not that it would matter to you anyway whether or not I did, nor to anyone in fact. What'll you do? Call the "Moral and Ethics Police" and name-call me until I redeem my evil, villainous ways? Oh my, how intimidating. When 4E rolls around with nothing to compensate the folks that dedicated themselves to 3E, WotC would cause such a schism with their fanbase and heavy loss of customers that stuff like that will be a really "gray" area anyway. 4E is simply going to destroy D&D's "sacred cows" to gather more customers and not convert any of your 3E/3.5E like they should do. I really don't see what needs to be changed so drastically with the system to warrant a brand new edition? Or, at least, I am hoping they make the transition to 4E as simple as the 3E/3.5E switch. What'd we lose on the switch to 3E-3.5E anyway? The only changes were a better ranger class, a change in the abilities with all the core classes, some spells taken out and streamlined into new ones, other spells moved in, it's tougher to get spell save DCs higher, useless skills taken out and melded into existing skills, new uses on skills, monsters get skills and feats like character classes do, and damage reduction rule changes? That's not that bad of a transition, I can do that and so can a million others. Only if 4E did something on that scale would I actually find myself shrugging away and dealing with 4E and possibly enjoying it. Some things I see them doing is introducing swift/immediate actions in as core, for example, which I can deal with. Even if they don't help convert 3E to 4E, at least they should make 4E in such a way that converting 3E to 4E may take some time and work, but it'll actually meld into it perfectly without much problems. That's their best bet with 4E if they want to keep the fans and please them with the new changes simultaneously. Yeah, 3.5E was a pain for many, but most of the stuff is converted or didn't need conversions (thank you, WotC, you did one thing right for once) and the changes weren't really off the wall. 4E means 3.5E is no longer successful...from what I constantly keep hearing is "D&D is at its Golden Age! It's in the best shape it could possible be! It's soaring to great heights!" from the staff at WotC. So if it's doing so well, why would a 4E be announced anytime soon? Why 2010? Are fans going to get bored with 3.5E two and a half years from now? Really? I don't even see that many bored with it now, they love it more now than ever before, correct? 2015...the earliest I think.
