Basically, pawsplay is just saying that he doesn't like the new cosmology, and prefers to stay with that one that was created in prior editions. As if people were forcing him to play with the new assumed default, or he would get shot. I mean, the new cosmology is just a proposal, as was the older one, and most D&D-GMs made their own cosmology up anyway. Heck, Eberron as an example has all its own planes of existance, with no Abyss-/Nine Hells of Baator-mumbo jumbo at all. Besides, the way it seems, Devils are rather Evil instead of being Lawful Evil. Noticed that the Alignment is only written as Evil? The 4th edition Succubus could easily work for a Chaotic Evil God of Destruction and Chaos. Devils aren't inherently opposed to those with Chaos in their Alignment. Heck, they're not even opposed to Demons anymore, as there's no Blood War to ruin the relationship between Devils and Demons. The only difference between Devils and Demons is that Demons are (according to Worlds & Monsters) a bunch of insane forces of the elements, whereas the Devils are team-playing jerks from the Astral Dominions. And that's it. They can actually quite well work together, as long as the demons are capable to withhold their killing urge. One kind of demon even became devils only due to a contract, the Ice Devils, who are now some kind of Yugoloth-oid demon race under contract for Mephistopheles. Proof that demons and devils can work together somehow.
