What's funny is that the +2 from combat advantage cancels out the -2 to hit, so there is never any advantage to going prone, not even against ranged enemies.
You actually only grant combat advantage to foes who are in melee with you.

edit: and I'd have gotten away with it too if it weren't for that danged FireLance and his dog!

Really? There is no way to gain combat advantage at range?
Yeah there is get your bow stand next to prone guy and Go POW!!! arrow in the face/back/butt.

Also powers that grant you combat advantage also do that at ranged I believe oh yeah and being hidden can help too :)

Yes, you can grant combat advantage at range, but in the context of the above discussion, the issue was what happens when you're prone. :)

To recap for clarity: You grant combat advantage to opponents making melee attacks against you, but non-adjacent opponents take a -2 penalty to ranged attacks.

You would get ranged combat advantage against a target that is balancing, blinded, climbing, dazed, helpless, restrained, running, squeezing, stunned, surprised, unable to see you, unaware of you or unconscious.
