D&D 4E 4e Spiked Chain Fighter

Fatality

First Post
I need some suggestions to make a 4th edition spiked chain fighter. For the skirmishing part of the fighter, you could do a feat like this straight out the gladiator book, with a few changes to a benefit you as a spiked chain fighter.

Spiked Chain Fighting
Prerequisite: Dex 13, proficient with the spiked chain.
Benefit: You can treat the spiked chain as a double weapon. As a double weapon, the staff deals 2d4/2d4 damage and gains the defensive and off-hand properties.

By taking this feat, this would open the spike chain up to the Ranger, which has excellant skrimishing abilities.

OR

Just write up a regular fighter that uses a spiked chain. Then, create a paragon path that specifies your use with the spike chain, sort of like the Swordmaster done.

The Dragon magazine article "Playing Shadar-kai" (just released today!) has a Spiked Chain Training multiclass feat almost identical to the version you posted. It also has three power swap feats similar to those in the Dragon gladiator article that allow you to: slide an enemy and knock him prone (encounter), gain threatening reach (utility), and grab an enemy and deal damage to him until he escapes (daily). No spiked chain paragon path, though.

EDIT: Whee! 5,000th post!
