PLEASE READ THE REVEALED MAP SHOWBLOCK FOR TURN INFO Mialucus' tackle surprises the brooding warlock, but he quickly recovers and motions the bubbly elf away. Standing up and grabbing a small skeletal hand as a trophy, both Mialucus and Rashka examine the entrance way to the Catacombs, cross-referencing the strange but familiar symbols. With a smile, Roithe seems to remember some old books back at Jurnae that have shown symbols that bear a striking resemblance to the ones that are now covered by horrific visages and other, stranger impressions. All three seem to remember an odd and not-oft spoken of "cult," as the villagers would say. The Revered Sun, some of them said, were crazy practictioners of Magic. They would bury themselves deep underground with small holes cut deeply into the earth above them in strategic places, allowing the sun to come into their shrines below the earth. No one truly understood why a cult joined so intimately to the sun would bury itself so far away from it's own symbol. Looking at the ring, Mialucus is dismayed to find that the fragments are much too large (almost a half a foot in lenght) to fit into the small socket of the ring the cleric found. With a half-hearted look, he tosses it to the Warlock. Stick looks on after his meditation, anxious to continue. The rogue Caden makes the decision to look down the entryway, and what he sees disturbs him slightly. Along the wall, every 20 feet or so, is a torch, alternating between the left and right walls. The walls are about 10 feet apart, and are covered in the same sun symbols that the entranceway is. However, about halfway down (that the elf can see), the wall begins to become covered in blood, strange symbols drenched with blood. Near the first torch (20 feet from the entrance), there appears to be a large, heavy door on the left side of the wall. Randomly looking up, Stick sees the blue veins that appeared earlier beneath the tree on the ceiling of the catacombs. The blue vein trails nearly 60 feet straight down the corridor of the catacombs (not branching off to the door on the left) and seems to curve to the right past 60 feet. [sblock=Revealed Map and Turn Posting] * Map Note * - Each "square" in this map is actually two squares in all directions. This is only true for the revealed map. Other maps (ie combat, puzzle rooms, etc) will feature to-scale maps. Welcome the first dungeon crawl portion of The Dustbowl! This dungeon crawl will work slightly differently than the combat rounds we previously have done. Since the players can only "see" the revealed portions of the map, each player will be allowed to post their turns at their leisure, following the new (and hopefully improved) posting order : 2 players > DM > 3 Players > DM HOWEVER, if (and when) a player decides to advance the so called "Fog of War" by reveling a portion of the map yet unseen, that player must specifically state in his OOC actions that he wishes to go somewhere that the players cannot see. What must happen then is that player moves to the edge of the seen map (in the case above, D21) and the next part of the map is revealed by a DM update immediately after his posting, revealing the new part of the map and any actions/encounters that occur. This DM update can occur at any part of the posting order. A quick example : Roithe and Rashka stay where they are and make checks/talk. DM updates their actions with results. Caden decides to move forward to D21 and reveal as the very next post after my update. Before Stick and Mia post their actions, the DM does another update with a new revealed map and posts any actions that occur, then Stick and Mia can post their actions, and we continue. I hope this isn't too confusing for you guys, but this is the best way I could think of to really simulate a "dungeon crawl" without just handing you a map at the start and saying "have at it."
