Hi y'all! I wanted some opinions on this idea I had for my very quite upcoming campaign. Tell me what you think.
It starts with a setting of mine devised a year or so back, for my last 4E campaign ''The Heroic Orchestra''. The general idea behind it was a rather obvious Points of Light type game where a magical disaster (called the Dark Symphony) destroyed most of the known word about a hundred years ago.
Righteous people took it upon themselves to fight the Dissonance (corruption of magic and living beings), and a sort of balance was achieved that allowed for the slow reconstruction of the Empire that used to reign ''back in the days''. For more info, there are a few posts about it on my blog, feel free to drop by.
Anyhoo, this setting was explored and I've been itching for something more... how could I say... Rock'n'Roll, mainly from listening to the opening song of the Borderland videogame on loop for around a week non-stop.
If you've read octaNe (a wonderful little gem of RPG insanity. Mostly unplayable but a pretty darn good read), you'll know what I'm talking about by psychotronic. The idea is to throw the game in the style of ridiculous post-apocalyptic movies, such as Tank Girl, Mad Max and the such.
It will happen roughly 30 years after the last campaign, 25 after a new magical disaster hit the world and made life harder for everyone. Most people are affected by some level of magical corruption, and most also don't give a damn. Morals are at an all new low, weird magic runs rampant through ruins of old abandonned steampunk factories and aliens probably also landed on the world.
Two characters are going to be travelling through time from just before the world ended again, both members of an organisation of heroes dedicated to fighting Dissonance in all it's forms called the Golden Brigade (two characters from a one-shot done a while back), and the rest will be wastelanders.
Thus I know the general feel I want to give to the game and a few directions the players could go (rebuilding the Golden Brigade, just looting stuff and trying to get rich, trying to take down the guy who destroyed the world 25 years back, etc.) but I'm still open for suggestions.
Tell me what you think, if you have any ideas, I'm up for anything, as long as it keeps everything over the top, pedal to the metal ridiculous.
