Duke Frinn
First Post
Hi.
I've got this idea, and If any of you would care to comment.
The campaign I run had been going on for a while, until a few monthes ago, when I stopped playing. I wanted to, but with the schoolyear starting, one thing led to the next, and after a long break getting back into the habit of writing adventures is difficult.
Then I had a cool idea...
I would have my group frozen in time for 50 years, to find the world has changed significantly...
The evil order they were chasing becomes good, and transforms into the official religion of the land.
An ambitious sorceror released not one, but five ancient powers: the six elder dragons, the terrasque, the Last Army, a forgotten deity, and a dangerous form of magic called Raw.
The heroes emerge from the time loop to find their kingdom split in two, after the terrasque is defeated. The last elder dragons split their support between the two kingdoms...
One kingdom of elves, dawrves, and men, old fashioned yet honorable. Another kingdom - humans who have made peace with the Ogre, Orc, and Goblin race.
The kingdoms have a common threat - the sorceror seeks the artifact that would give him control of the Last Army -- extremely powerful mercinaries from another plane.
This backstory will allow me to make major changes in the campaign, such as less availible magic items, different religions, etc.
What do you think?
How would you react if your character was sent 50 years into the future with no possibility of return?
