The backing off by WotC avoided any costly actual instead of just threatened litigation and risks of adverse legal judgments and preserved the threat for future options.Paizo dropping the OGL for Pathfinder Remastered means the biggest resourced and positioned OGL legal defender no longer has any incentive to really care about defending the OGL now if future WotC determines for whatever reason at their discretion to eliminate non 5e OGL stuff.</blockquote>
