Ah, yes. Forget to mention the Isle of Dread intro. It occurred to me when I read the initial post and then forgot when I got home to write my reply. It's a good out of game description as it relates the countries to real world cultures. If you have the Gazetteers, you can use the "What everyone knows..." sections as well. It's a lot like the Newbie Guide. I just finished B6 and realized if I had wanted to focus more on Karameikos as the campaign I'd have used "Davinos' Complaint" from GAZ 1. It introduces the Veiled Society. It's an adventure in narrative form that the DM can flesh out. I ran U1 Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh and set it in Sulescu. Turns out someone else did, as well. His notes are available online and he added a fantastic Captain's Log that can segue into X1 - and the characters have a boat now, too! Davinos' complaint for level 1 (keep it light on combat and heavy on setting and characters. Get the PCs familiar with the capital). Then down to U1 set in Sulescu as it's only a short way away. It's a great Scooby-Doo like adventure. Back to Specularum for B6. Maybe caravan guards for the Gnome Caravan back north. The Caravan arrives in Specularum March/Thaumont 11th and leaves the 15th. Gives the PCs something to spend all their money on! Arrive in Highforge on the 25th or so and then you can segue to B10, which is nearby. B10 nominally starts on the 7th of March/Thaumont but you could always say bad weather delayed it.
