Ok, so definitely going Rogue. Desert Rider Background, but the Sa'Luk theme, and I would very much like to replace my background trait with Flippant Charm. We're going to be talking to Shieks and all kinds of stuff, and this lets met be a disrespectful pain in the arse but still get away with it. I love it. I was just going to stick with Thief, but after reading up on it, I think I'm going to go with Mechanician for my Rogue Archetype. I did have some questions on that, because it clearly lists it as a Rogue Archetype, but there are parts that talk about it being a Wizard tradition. Is Machanician available for a Rogue Archetype? So basically, he's a desert riding Sa'Luk who goes from place to place, living off his wits and charms, and creates little machines in his downtime, usually to act as scouts or alarms or such. He basically only trusts his own little machines, and he names each one and treats them much better than he treats people. Like his horse, which is his best...um...living friend. you know, since all his other friends are little mechanicals. Perhaps he is related to someone important in some way, which contributes to his getting away with his flippancy in a realm where dishonoring someone usually can lead to death? Or something. I will need some guidance on the Mechanicals. I know I can keep a certain number active equal to my intelligence score, but I can have as many as I want actually built and waiting to activate. I can bestow some of my rogueyness to them, and at level 13, I don't have to lose that ability when I do. Otherwise, they're basically like animal companions? BTW, bestowing sneak attack to a Tiny Mechanical snake... It is interesting that in the first paragraph, it says they can't attack, then later says they can. Typo? Because they can obviously attack. I'm excited. This is a very multi layered character, being a charming rogue who shirks social norms and gets away with it, while also being a master of disguise who can convince anyone he is anyone, who likes to tinker on little robots when nobody is looking. Man. He might become one of my favorite characters so far. There's just so much I can do with him.
