700 users on the new News site!

I was just perusing all of the nifty options on the new news page, when I discovered that there were over 700 people on as well! 47 registered members, 655 guests -- wow.

What is the record for the number of users online at once here? I'm curious if the number above is big or little, compared to the record or EN World's "average".

Depending on the day and time, we often get over 1,000 (at least we did on the old site). That's one thing that i don't think poeple realise about the site - those who use the messageboards are a very small fraction of the visitors. Also, that figure on the news page doesn't count those on the boards, so for an accurate figure you need to add the two together.

Plus there's a bunch of people browsing the stuff at the old site, of course - most of the content is still over there, including the reviews page.
