[80s] Did I dream this book up?

Alright, we're time tripping here. When I was a wee lad in the early-to-mid 1980s, somebody gave me this book. It was like some kind of D&D coloring book. It would have a full page picture on one side of a large party travelling through a dungeon, with some kind of text on the other page. I'm not sure if it was specifically a coloring book, but since it was B&W and I was 6 or 7, that's just how it turned out :). It was an oversized paperback, like 11x14, probably about 32 pages. I seem to recall a dark grey cover. I don't actually remember a D&D logo or title, but the explorers fought a beholder in one picture (I remember some lurid shot of it vaporizing a dwarf or something), and I think in the end they fought Demogorgon.

I just remember it being really cool, and familiarizing me with some of the tenets of D&D when I'd start playing several years later. But for the life of me, I can't find this book in my possessions and I've never heard of anyone who remembers it. Is this jogging anyone's memory?

I think we talking The Official Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Coloring Album, text by Gary Gygax and illustrated by Greg Irons, Troubador Press, 1979. It's been discussed a fair bit on GreyTalk. Contains two, count 'em, two (partial) Gygax dungeons!

Well, i could scan the interior...but i colored the whole thing when I was nine. It was published in 1979 by Troubadour Press in San Fransico. We took a family vacation that year to...San Francisco & I bought it in a trendy bookshop on the Fisherman's Wharf. Cool, eh?
