I've been trying to stay out of public publisher-vs-publisher criticism recently, but I can't stay silent on this.

As somebody who lost friends on 9/11, I find it disgusting that you use the date, in faux "somberness", as an opportunity to plug your products.

Classless and shameless.

+ wasn't he the guy who got caught writing reviews for his own products under fake names?

Feel what you like, but be open to the possibility that this has nothing to do with business and is one man's way of marking the event.

I really don't think he is 'using the date' so much as he is trying really hard. Since this has became a flag waiving event people mark it in different ways. I don't think there is any disrespect meant here.

So if a company flew their flag at half mast yesterday would you nay-sayers accuse them of just drawing attention to themselves?

Come on. The Le has had sales like this before. All I get is the sense that he believes in Freedom, understands what it truly costs, and has this outlet as a way to express it.

Cynicism is not always your friend. If you think there is some nefarious motive, then try to screw him over and tell all your friends to download all these free products...of course then there is the danger that they may like them!

Thank you for your comments. Your public attacks on publishers and personal vendetta against me are well documented. That being said, I fully understand that emotions were running high yesterday for many people, so I completely forgive you for your negativity and hateful tendencies.

I told the gaming community a few weeks ago that I would be running a 99 cent sale when I reopened my shop, not realizing that it would be on 9/11. I decided that it would be in poor taste to run a large sale on such an important day; I don't want to use the sympathy of others to promote a sale, nor do I want the importance of that day to go unnoticed.

I think it would be shameful to use the death of others as a marketing ploy to make money.

I think people would be more inclined to agree if he wasn't already discovered to have been spending years writing reviews of his own products while pretending to be someone else. And also, five of those ten items were already supposed to be free forever according to his apology thread on RPG.NET, so him saying that they're free because of his 9/11 sale or whatever is just a blatant falsehood to give him a patriotic appearance.

Really not called for, in extremely bad taste indeed, accomplishing nothing (well, nothing good), and yes, insincere in some rather obvious ways.

Sorry, but it's true.
