D&D General A boss battle, only told in d20

Ancalagon

Dusty Dragon
I was wondering if roll20 was fair (a lot of fellow players were... doubtful). The average was 10.56, so I say it was fair.

this is the players' rolls only: (both attacks and saving throws)

It's about as fair as one can hope for. I even looked to see if low numbers were more common than high numbers, or if middle range numbers were more likely. They were all very evenly split as one would expect.

Though without the enemy data it's hard to say.

Also, about 8% of the players rolls were natural 20's. Given the importance of that value, i'd say if anything it was slightly biased in the players favor (but still well within a normal statistical range for that sample size).

What level were you?
level 9, pathfinder 1e. The lich was overconfident and not that competent - a good thing because we lost a key party member a number of sessions ago, and I think the GM pulled his blows. The party was also pretty low on resources. My alchemist had one bomb left, for example.

AFAIK, Roll20 is better than other VTTs as they use hardware quantum dice rollers, whereas other VTTs and DDB use algorithmic ones.

That being said, the number of dices rolled is still not that significant, you can compare it to their global charts on the page above.

Unless the dice result in a reliable payment to the house, they're always fair. It's the players' brains that are biased.

If PCs don't like d20, switch to 3d6. Go the Fantasy AGE route.
