[QUOTE="pontinyc, post: 9451805, member: 6749050"] So, the party wizard grabbed the cleric and Dimension Door'd into a large sphere beneath a mage college. They're both level 11. The sphere is the physical manifestation of a wrinkle/anomaly in the Weave. This wrinkle has been trying to right itself for millennia which has resulted in the sphere feeding on nearby arcane energy hungrily as well as occasionally offering a massive burst of arcane understanding to those who enter it. I need to create a one-or-two shot for these two characters in which they navigate this strange anomaly. Absolutely anything's on the table. . . portals to any realm, time travel/dilation/expansion, multiverse/parallel universe experiences, alternate versions of themselves, combats, puzzles, backstory involvement, absolutely anything. One thing I'd love to have happen, however, is for the characters to come to a greater understanding of themselves by the end. Face some personal fear and overcome it. Classic hero's journey type stuff. If it helps, the cleric's mother died when he was young, was resurrected but became a joyless shell of her former self. As a result, the cleric grew up to serve Kelemvor, the god of death and judgment in our campaign, and he is very reluctant to perform resurrections. The wizard's fiance was recently killed in a stone giant raid on their town and he's grieving her loss. He's also recently discovered that he is Eladrin royalty. Also, they both know that eventually they'll need to face off with a massively powerful BBEG who is slowly being awakened in another plane and intends to conquer a huge portion of their world. However, they've only had allusions to him from other evil npc's and don't know his true identity. This may be a good time for them to get a glimpse of him or to encounter him in some way. I've explained their rapid leveling throughout the campaign by the fact that there are entities (Kelemvor among them) who are aiding their acquisition of knowledge and understanding. He's doing this to help stop this eventual BBEG who would upset the scales of balance in terms of souls entering his realm. So they could be visited by celestials or representatives of any number of gods in this, as well. That's about it. Many thanks for any thoughts you'd like to throw my way, I truly appreciate it! TL;DR: Need one-shot ideas for what happens when two characters enter a strange break in the Weave. Absolutely anything's on the table, let your minds go nuts. What would you throw at them? Thanks!
