I've only run a couple of games so far, which have been reasonably successfull (I think :)), and now I'm looking for some information that would be handy. I'm starting a basic Forgotten Realms campaign, not much else to say about it. First off, can anyone recommend their favorite set of third party class books? I was pretty underwhelmed by Wizards books, as were my players. I'd like to present these to my players as options. Preferably something that has an interesting set of classes, options, and rules that aren't extremely bizarre or out of place (which I'm sure will vary in definition from person to person ;)). None of my local shops stock these, so I'll have to special order them, or take a long trip to another town and go hunting to even look at them. Does anyone know of an updated set of FR character sheets like these: http://www.emass-web.com/ that have the Races of Faerun stuff added? Is there a pdf floating around somewhere that has a list of Feat chains (graphically represented with a short description maybe), including the FR stuff? I'd like to provide my players with the mechanical stuff behind magic item creation, without spoiling them on the magic items in the DMG, is there a source for this information (SRD?) that has just the mechanical aspects of item creation, without the specific magic items, and includes the FR specifics? And last, does anyone know of a place that has all of the FR Prestige Classes condensed into one document? We're starting fresh soon, and I'd like to present all of the potential options from the start, so they players can think about their character concepts and future options. To be clear, my players are all rpg newbies, and none of them have access to any of the FR books (or any books outside the PHB for that matter), so I want to condense a set of useful information that I can provide for them, and then talk them through what they want to play. I'm thinking about doing emails containing an overview of Realms backstory, some details on the world as a whole, then more specific information about each geographic area. Once they've decided on some character concepts based on this info, I can provide them with some more detailed knowledge their characters would know, and begin planning out potential adventures. A digital version of the FR map would be good as well. I searched a bit, but I couldn't seem to find anything but the older 2E map. I have access to the core books, Manual of the Planes, Psi Handbook, the FR book, Faiths and Pantheons, Monsters, Magic, and Races of Faerun, Lords of Darkness, and the Silver Marches. I also have all but one or two Dragon mags since the first 3e issue, and all but one or two Dungeon mags from the same stretch. In case it wasn't apparent, 3E made me curious enough to pick up the books, and want to run a game. I DMed a bit last year, but work intervened and we stopped playing. Now I want to restart a campaign, but based on my (brief) experiences last time, I'd like to do a bit more groundwork for my players first. Any answers would be most appreciated!
