In the Palladium FRPG there is a special magical short sword. It has no bonuses to hit or damage. It has no other special attacks such as being flammable.
It's only special thing is that it uses a doubling die for damage.
For those who might not know what doubling die is, it is a d6, but instead of having 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 on its sides, it has 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64. That means it does this amount of damage. While that's all that it does, just think, 16 or 32 points of damage is a lot of damage on one roll, not to mention the damage is doubled on a critical hit.
So, would you allow such a weapon in your games? Is it overpowered?
Personally, I'd love for my character to have this kind of weapon.
