A Friendly World

Edena_of_Neith

First Post
Edena_of_Neith here.
I wish to salute and give my cheers to those who have worked to bring us the Hobby.

And you know what kind of Gen Con I would like to attend?

People sit down and listen to the Design Team, with respect and courtesy.
And the Design Team enjoys the company of the people they are talking to.

People treat celebrities with the respect they deserve.
Celebrities delight in talking to the people at the con.

There is merriment. Fun. Parties. Gatherings. Meetings of friends from afar.
There is joy, and hope, and a sense of the Hobby flourishing and going forward.

There is no anger.
There is no rage.
There is no paranoia.
There is no snickering behind people's backs.
No name calling. No bickering. No put downs. No antagonism.

That would be a wonderful convention. The kind worth driving 1,200 miles to be in.

But it's not a perfect world, and our situations are not always perfect. We are only human.
Let's make it the best Gen Con we can. We are Gamers, and we deserve the best we can give.

For all those who try to make things this way, in spite of all life's adversary, I give my salutations and cheers. The spirit of youth, the spirit of our Hobby, the spirit of fun, can never be beaten down. We will endure forever.

Yours Sincerely
Edena_of_Neith

Every GEN CON I have every been to has been like you described. . .

Except for people who don't realize you should stand to the right on escalators to allow people who aren't lazy-asses to walk past them, everyone seems fairly friendly and courteous. :)

As a lazy-ass, I take offense at your confrontational tone, sirrah!

Just stand to the right, when you hear my voice behind you saying "Excuse me! On your left!" and we won't have to throw down. ;)

You'll have to excuse us country folk. We ain't used to ya'lls fancy city-stuff like stairs what move for ya, parfume for yer armpits, and talkin pitcher-boxes.

The_Universe for the win in three rounds.

Because...well, he is The_Universe and the universe is so big....

Only because the universe hasn't been the BBEG opposing an adventuring party. Then the three rounds could go both ways.
