I wouldn't mind trying my hand at courtly intrigues, but I wouldn't want the game to stay there indefinately, I'm too much of a hack'n'slasher to avoid combat entirely (though I'm having a great time in the Planescape PbP game I'm in on these boards... it's been months and no one's even cast any spells or drawn a weapon.
