I had a small tourist map and I walked along the walk. At some point I wondered where on the map I might be and couldn't figure it out, but since I was just waling along the beach walk, it didn't matter. I eventually figured out that I started my somewhere on the map, (relatively near to the pier with the Carousel/park) but basically wandered out to "another" map - that of the Venice part of the beach - I still haven't figured out why there is a distinction being made in the two guides I had here, but who cares. it was nice, and I did get my feet in the sand (and a little in the water, too.) I couldn't miss that. In the early afternoon, I explored the 3rd Street Avenue/Boulevard/other street synonym?). Nice place, too - if I was into shopping, I would have needed more time. A very enjoyable day. (though it appears a text message directed at me from kiznit (CM) got lost in the ether - I think I had no reception at all in Santa Monica - this might have cost me my only chance to meet a CM/ENworlder <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f641.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":(" title="Frown    :("  data-smilie="3"data-shortname=":(" /> )And today I visited Holiday and even got aboard one of the LACitytours buses.
