Make a deal with something horrible for power, get a bunch of magic spy mirrors, Wish you were good at rulering, maybe even recognize you live in a world of magic and the supernatural that's nothing like this sad 'Earth' thing you've never heard of and instead means that other sad place with burrowing rock frogs that vomit gems.
