If the target is a Small or smaller creature grappled by the behir, and the behir has not swallowed anyone else, the target is swallowed. A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover from attacks from outside the behir, and it takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the behir’s turns.</p><p>If a swallowed creature deals 30 or more damage to the behir in a single turn, or if the behir dies, the behir vomits up the creature.</p><p><strong><em>Constrict.</em></strong><em> Melee Weapon Attack: </em>+7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. <em>Hit: </em>15 (2d10+4) bludgeoning damage. The target is grappled (escape DC 15) and restrained while grappled.</p><p><strong><em>Lightning Breath (Recharge 5–6).</em></strong> The behir breathes a line of lightning 5 feet wide and 20 feet long. Creatures in the area make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 42 (12d6) lightning damage on a failed save or half damage on a success</p><p></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: 18px"><span style="color: rgb(65, 168, 95)">Behir Variant: Elder Behir</span></span></strong></p><p>The elder behir is an elite monster, equivalent to two CR 11 monsters (41,000 XP). It is Huge and has 336 (32d12+128; bloodied 168) hit points. The behir has the following additional bonus actions, which it can only use while bloodied:</p><p></p><p><strong><em>Elite Recovery.</em></strong> The elder behir ends one negative effect currently affecting it. It can use this bonus action as long as it has at least 1 hit point, even while unconscious or incapacitated.</p><p><strong><em>Rending Bite. </em></strong>The elder behir makes a bite attack against a creature it is constricting. On a hit, the bit inflicts an additional 26 (4d12) slashing damage and the target must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of its next turn.</p><p><strong><em>Trample. </em></strong>The elder behir moves up to its speed in a straight line. It can move through the spaces of Large and smaller creatures. Each of these creatures must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 16 (2d10+5) slashing damage and falling prone on a failure.</p><p></p><p>The elder behir also has the following reaction, which it can only use while bloodied:</p><p></p><p><strong><em>Lightning Retort. </em></strong>When the elder behir is hit by a melee attack by a creature within 10 feet of it, it spits lightning at that creature. A juvenile desert behir is CR 5 (1,800 XP) and has 85 (10d10+30; bloodied 42) hit points.
