[QUOTE="Lhorgrim, post: 3350901, member: 12222"] Hello folks. I just came back to EN World after a bit of an extended hiatus. I stopped gaming about a month after last year's GenCon, and just this week decided to pick the books back up. The con didn't have anything to do with my stepping away from gaming, in fact it kept me going just a bit longer than I otherwise would have. I met some great EN Worlders, and got to go watch the Ennies. I had a blast at GenCon 2006, and we rocked the Embassy Suites. :) Then I got home to the great metropolis of small town Kentucky. :( I couldn't find a stable group (more than one or two sessions in a row). My "home town" group still refused to play 3.5 or 3.0, and insisted on 2E or Runequest. After several canceled game dates, I despaired of ever getting to actually play a satisfying game session again. I got fed up and packed away all my books, and just stopped coming to this site. It had nothing to do with the site or the people, but reading about others enjoying the game that I never got to play was just too frustrating. I didn't post one of those farewell threads that you see from time to time. I just stepped away from the keyboard. Now the game has drawn me back (as it always does) even though my gaming opportunities have not improved. So, the prodigal poster returns. :) In my time away from the boards I dedicated myself to getting in better shape to keep my mind off gaming, and I'm happy to report that I've lost 60lbs and am sticking with my workout routine and diet. I hope to be a contributing member of the boards again, though without the opportunity to actually play the game I'm not sure how relevant I can be. Hope springs eternal. I can't go to GenCon this year, but next year you can be sure I'll attend (and volunteer to work the Ennies booth again). Sorry for the long winded post. It's good to be back among gamers.
