Okay, here's the thing. I've got this idea for a spell bouncing around in my head but I have two real problems. One, what level?; two, other than illusion what school should it be?
Here's the spell (also, name suggestions would be nice):
Calper's Combat Companion
(Illusion, ?)
Level: 2
Material: V,S
Range: Caster
Casting Time: Special
Duration: Instantious
Save: Will, see below
Description:
When engaged in combat you may cast this spell as if it is Quickened (counts as your one Quickened spell per round). At the completion of this spell an Illusion of the caster is imposed over you in the space you occupied. The illusion gives all the signs of life (breathing, smell, body heat, motion, etc.). When this illusion is created you become etheral and move to the position directly opposite of the person you were attacking (except the opponent you are moving through [see below], no one recieves an AoO for this movement). The entered space must be vacant or you fall prone after your attack. You recieve an immediate attack against that opponent as if they were flanked by you and the image.
Save: A will save is made against a DC of (caster level + int/cha/wis[depends on casting type] + 10). If the opponent saves, you do not recieve the flanking bonus on your attack (as the illusion is disbelieved) and the opponent recieves an AoO against you. This AoO is not counted against the opponents number of AoO's for that turn.
So, how's it look? I haven't made any spells for 3e before this one and it's been a while since I've done it for 2e so I anticipate a number of problems with this. Thanks for the input. Also, what would the cleric domains be? I think this would be a good spell to add to the majority of the spell lists.
EDIT: Forgot this.
Even if the illusion is disbelieved you still turn ethereal and move through the opponents space into the new space.
EDIT: Added Level 2 and adjusted DC
