First Post
I created this race to make use of the Realm of Dreams (manual of the planes), I borrowed some abilites from the dream folk from the creature collection 2. Everyone has liked this race so far on other message boards. Remember constructive critisism is wanted.

The Dream Children

Dream Children are physical beings born in the region of dreams. When and how these beings came to exist is unknown to all except a few select deities. Most dream children find their way to the material plane very easily, and once there most choose to stay on the material plane for companionship. Dream Children being a very diverse bunch, can be found in nearly any occupation from the simple farmer, to a traveling minstrel, to an evil tyrant.

Personality: The attitudes of dream children are as random and diverse as dreams. Some are angry and short tempered while others may be excited and optimistic, with their attitudes sometimes changing from day to day.

Physical Description: Dream Children are human in build, with two sexes and males being slightly larger. The skin of a dream child can be any color that could be dreamed up, some even have skin patterns like stripes, spots, swirls, and blotches to name a few. A Dream Childes hair is always a different color than their skin and is usually worn in an exotic style. A Dream Childes eyes are said to be visions of deep space, with black orbs and stars glittering in the background and large, bright spiraling galaxies for pupils. Due to their unusual randomness, dream children can live for as short as 100 years for some to numerous centuries for others, with all maturing at different speeds. Dream children do not sleep as other races do but must rather return to the region of dreams for at least 4 hours a day. This time spent in the dream realm rejuvenates them as 8 hours of sleep would rejuvenate a human.

Relations: Dream Children usually get along well with humans, gnomes, and halflings (that is, after people have grown accustomed to their somewhat alien looks). Most dream children try to fit into roles that makes them valuable and well-liked members of society. Most elves and dwarves don't get along well with dream children due to their random and changing nature.

Alignment: Dream Children are as random as the infinite dreamscapes that float through their realm. Most are chaotic in nature, believing in personal freedom above all laws. Dream Children have no natural affinity towards good or evil.

Dream Child Lands: Dream Children have no lands of their own on the material plane. The Dream Children rule the Region of Dreams. Numerous cities can be found built upon the permanent dreamscapes that occasionally occur.

Religion:Not sure yet.

Language: The Dream Children's Language is spoken in quiet, soothing tones that make listeners on the material plane somewhat sleepy. It is assumed that the dream children have their own form of writing, but so far no material plane being has been able to recognize or read it.

Names: At birth a dream child is given a name by its birth parent, but most change their name several times throughout their lifetime. Their names reflect that which they are most attuned too.. the Region of Dreams, Taking names heard while wandering across the numerous dreamscapes. Therefore their names can be from any language.

Adventurers: Dream Children adventure out of curiosity to see the beings who's dreams they wander through and to experience all that cant be experienced upon the Region of Dreams.

Very cool, I like. About religion, do not limit them to any religion, just as all sentient (and some non-sentinet) creatures dream, so do deities. And as such dream children should be allowed to have access to any religion existing in your campaign.

Also, if you haven't read them allready, i can recommend Neil Gaiman's Sandman Comics for inspiration relating to the realm of dreams.

Also you should check out these threads for more creatures of dream:
