I've been following this story and thread for some time, and find it to be a useful look into the "Behind-the-Scenes" story of the RPG industry in these intersting times.
I applaud the intent of the orginal Open Letter, and am not at all surprised by the response (from some) that it got, and the lack of response (from others). And I'm glad that we, the fanbase, have been clued in on it.
As an aside, I've picked up both the 3.5 Amethyst book when it came out, and now the "Foundations" book for 4E. (Though I certainly miss the chunks of fiction in the new book!)
After poring over the new book, and re-reviewing the old one, I've determined that I like the revised setting and rules enough to consider checking out future supplements, assuming there are any. (Originaly, I had no intention of upgrading to the 4E version, but, given the reasonable cover price, coupled with some other deals at my FLGS, I gave in.)
(But, if given the choice, I'd still prefer a 3.5/PF version over continued support of 4E.)
ANYWAY, continued best of luck to you over at DEM, and I applaud you for speaking your mind (and for keeping the community in the loop.)
