Well if you've cut back to three per day I don't think allowing the use of greater invocations is a problem. In fact a cool trick might be to let them get additional swift EBs at the cost of health. So long as they're not tossing out two tricked out EBs every round for free. Well me personally I like to give my classes the ability to control their auras, however if the warlock is not in full control of the magic they wield then maybe it would be an interesting character point for warlocks to not be able to participate in friendly brawls or rough sports. On the other hand if the magic comes from capricious spirits or the like then it might make sense to only punish deadly attacks. It just kinda depends where the magic comes from. Damage reduction, energy resistance, eldritch aura, eldritch aura, and eldritch knowledge, these could be replaced or altered to represent pacts ala the 4e warlock. (fey, infernal, shadow, etc) Now I know your fluff right now is set up to be rather vague, but I like the idea of warlocks as people who made deals with dangerous magical beings to gain power. Helps carve out a distinct place for them you know.
