Possibly make him a drug addled loser who always screws stuff up... </p><p></p><p>A possible option is that him and the sister are still together. The blackmail was part of her plan to 'posh' herself up and provide a dowry for her and the idiot brother - she felt she'd be able to control him utterly. Now they don't get on, but they're stuck with each other.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Hmmm. This plotline came from my younger brother.
