Hi all, Can anyone tell me how the Bless Weapon spell works in Legends of Excalibur (RPGobjects)? Since alignment is done away with does it become a matter of DM fiat or is there a system Im missing? In case any RPGObject folks are reading, if the rest of your stuff is half as good, I think Im sold on it all...so hurry up and reprint Darwins World 2 :D

I would think that it would work against anyone not of your Allegiance or simply everyone--like an enchanted weapon. Remember a person can have many allegiances--I wouldn't think the target would need to have it as his/her #1 slot to avoid the effects, but only have it on the list. Of course, no honor bound warrior would attack anyone of the same faith. Nor would he/she attack an unworthy foe.

Hey this is Chuck, author of Legends of Excalibur. Glad you're liking it so far.

Any time an effect reads "against evil" or some similar text, a good way to translate that into the Legends system is "targets whose Nobility score is less than 50 and 10 points or more lower than your own".

So a target with a nobility of 51+ is immune, and a target of lower nobility is still immune is he's more honorable than you are.

If you'd like things to be a little less cut and dried you could drop any reference to a set number and just read evil as "anyone whose nobility is 10 or more points less than your own".

This makes such effects more powerful in the hands of the "ultra pure" such as Lancelot, Gawain, Galahad etc.

Hope this helps :)

Chuck
