Was bought by New World Computing. NWC then liquidated some assets; noting that the biggest seller wasn't even theirs - Star Fleet Battles. SFB was and still is owned by Amarillo Design Bureau, and was the big seller for TFG. Kept the doors open. But the lawsuit from Paramount was a huge issue financially. Starfire was sold off to some superfans about the time a revision to 3rd ed was released (the revised tactical rulebook). These superfans have since published 3 more versions, and rereleased editions 1 & 2 in PDF. They also released the 3rd revised tactical. Battlewagons I don't know the ownership, but the PDFs are released by ADB. Some of the other games also are released by ADB. I 've not seen mention of the Autoventures line. I've not seen mention by Jennell Jaquays if she's got rights to her TFG releases (back when she was Paul). I've seen quotes of her noting that she was under a lot of stress in the 80s (while still being Paul) because of gender dysphoria. It's worth noting that, in the 80's, the views baked in were some of the less toxic views about homosexuality; it was in the APA's DSM III as a mental illness; it was removed in 1987 with the release of the DSM III-R. Most of the hard right of the era didn't accept it as mental illness, but simply as emblematic of either demonic possession or simple moral failure. In most states, the current DSM is a legal standard, as well - if the DSM lists it as a mental illness, so does the state. Now, Transgenderism was, in the 80's, generally considered a mental illness as well - an was such in the DSM III, III-R, and IV. Now, it's not, but the dysphoria (stress and behavioral issues caused by it) still is.
