We were not hired to kill anyone. And right now we are doing a poor job of being discrete."</span> Verrick hurridly pats the man down trying to find anything that would help him and his companions identify the man or his purpose. <a href="http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=684952" target="_blank">Search of the fallen man (1d20+2=19)</a> OOC: <em>Now I am getting paranoid. Where are these rolls coming from?</em></p><p></p><p>[sblock=OOC] If I understand correctly, in addition to the man Pinkie dropped, and Verrick has helped, there is one additional assailant who Ray dropped in the first round. How far away from the group is he? Furthermore, what weapons were the men using. Specificly we have the man who damaged Pinkie, what weapon did he use?</p><p></p><p>If I recall correctly, A CDG works by scoring an automatic critical, but criticals do not multiply damage dice that are in addition to the normal weapon damage, including the extra dice from a sneak attack. Thus the last 1 rolled for the CDG does not count, and the attack only deals 5 damage. Given the will of the dice, I think this man is suppose to live. <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f609.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=";)" title="Wink ;)" data-smilie="2"data-shortname=";)" /></p><p></p><p>I think it is fair to say that Verrick was flatfooted with regard to Pinkie, and could not take advantage of the AOO the CDG provokes in order to prevent Pinkie's attack (check out the cool acronyms.) I would say that Verrick is now wise to her, and will not be caught by surprise again, but what with the Heal check and the Search check, it seems that Verrick has left himself open, and at this moment does not threaten any squares.</p><p></p><p>At any rate, resolving this intra-party conflict should be interesting. <img src="http://www.enworld.org/forum/images/smilies/nervous.png" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":heh:" title="Nervous Laugh :heh:" data-shortname=":heh:" /> Our alignments pretty much cover the spectrum.[/sblock]</p></blockquote><p></p>
