Simply put: In a remote world, a very primitive civilization (not a kingdom or country, but a group of clans, equivalent to the Neolithic Age, they are even more primitive than the people of Athas) accidentally discovered an ancient artefact (you can imagine it as the black monolith in the 2001 Space Odyssey) that mysterious artefact, can make the dreams of all sentient features in the nearby area (not very large, with a radius of only a few tens of kilometers) become a stable tiny demiplanes and can be shaped by their owners(dreamlord), further more,it allow them to make physical material crossing between the reality and their own dreams. In terms of specific effects, whenever they fall asleep in reality, they will wake up in their own dreams. This is a tiny but stable demiplane where its owner(dreamlord) can shape them at various degree(vary by individuals and situation), such as making the fields bloom with flowers that never wither, or crops that can grow immediately after harvesting , or countless animals that are unguarded and defenseless so can be hunted freely everywhere.of course, the dreamlords also can create countless loyal servants and beautiful women, that just their own dream afterall. But their control over their own dreams is not unlimited. once they wake up or any place they cannot aware in their dreams, the existence in their dreams will develop on its own. they are real things, and it is common for terrifying monsters born from their nightmares to attack or kill the dreamlords, which usually only wakes them up. However, it is also not unusually for creatures in nightmares to completely devour and destroy the dreamlord's soul, leading to their own destruction due to their dream end along with its dreamers. 1 hour in reality equals 3 hours in dreams. When they are killed in their dreams, they immediately wake up in reality, and when they die in reality (whether killed or old), they wake up in their dreams and live there forever————as if reality is just a dream for them. The inability to distinguish between dreams and reality, leading to many foolish behaviors, is a common mental problem in their world. The difference and connection between dreams and reality are also topics that their philosophers always debate. . as long as you get close to that artefact, it will trigger such an effect, anyone can do it. and even if they are far away from it, as long as they are in the same world (planet), this effect can be maintained for life. although the death of the dreamlord only cause their souls to live forever in their own dreams, once their souls are destroyed (as many creatures born in nightmares can do), their dreams will be destroyed and vanished along with their owner's souls. Their other special ability is that their dreams are not just hallucinations generated during sleep, but stable and real demiplanes, so physical crossing is possible and everyone can do it. In terms of game rules, this is equivalent to all of them can use true creation (a 9th lv psychic power) once per day, and can freely create any non-living object with a value of no more than 50GP (usually food or other valuable resources), which is actually brought out of their own dream. Spells such as Planeshift or Gate can make physical travel between the reality and someone's dream, but this is limited to a few high-level characters.by the way, creatures create by their dreamlords can be bring to the reality though such spell.————-of course, terrifying monsters born from the nightmares can also do the same.when these creatures of nightmare come into the real world, they become real and free beings and will no longer be destroyed together by the death of their dreamlords. . That's how it is, because they can obtain unlimited resources freely from their dream, and although their civilization is extremely primitive, they still live a very prosperous life. although the creatures of nightmare always a problem, it usually does not pose a real danger and they can handle it. because there is no need to compete for resources, the inhabitants of this world are all pacifists. but it wasn't until one day that invaders from another world appeared————they possessed a much more advanced civilization, matched with their cunning and conspiracies, as well as far more powerful magic, technology, and a mighty army armed by these magic and technology. their goal is not only to conquer the entire world, but also to seize that artefact they coveted for years.you can imagine them as Europeans invading America. and they easily achieved their goals, turning the entire world's inhabitants into their slaves, possessing the artifact that could turn simple dreams into reality, and mastering the methods to use it. however, these invaders do not know how to deal with the creatures in the nightmare. They always thought that Dreamlord could control their dreams at will and at their pleased————until countless terrifying nightmare creatures began to invading, manifesting, spawning in the reality in countless incredible ways. That's all for now, and further content will be added.
