Ha, it was around the time Adult Swim was pushing the ridiculous of 'who would win: a crocodile with wings, or a shark with a jet pack?' So I had the party encounter an Island of Doctor Moreau knock-off where his chief minions were just such hybrids. I don't really recall much else. Dr. Wolfgang von Recklinghausen was a PC who, after another PC broke a prisoner's spine, performed spine surgery to restore the guy. I know I had his 'creation' show up, but not what really happened. Tinker Oddcog existed, and was the foil of the party's own halfling artificer in a mech suit, Alloquicious (who makes a tiny appearance in the third adventure's arm's fair). Oh, right, the Kaybeau Arms Fair was based on a dumb recurring joke one of the players made about the 'smartest kobold in the world,' K-Bo, who had such wild inventions as "A carrier pigeon carrying a hand grenade." One of the PCs was basically one of the Hammer Bros from Super Mario, which bizarrely was basically the starting seed for the whole idea of Ber being a nation of 'savage' races that had thrown off the yoke of dragons. Because, like, Bowser is a dragon. Oh, and I did have Rush and Merton (Lya's bodyguards whom you might fight in adventure 6). And the nations had the same names, though Danor didn't have tieflings (they became tiefling focused because 4e made tieflings a mainstream PC race). I'm sure I've got some notes stashed on some old portable hard drive. But the details of the piracy have faded away compared to the stuff I decided to keep for ZEITGEIST.
