OK. I am forgetting the whole Naturally Psionic thing. I am trying to mash too much into the creature again. The one thing that is still rattling around in my head is the lack of AC. Considering that in the conversion thread we ended up adding in telekinesis due to the great amount of illusory spell-like abilities we could not give equal compensation in the conversions, I am thinking that starting with the greater aboleth, the aboleth will gain inertial armor 1/day. Especially considering that I am not adding the telekinesis to the aboleths. With the CR 9 common aboleth a 16 AC is not super terrible for a foe (but not good either). With the CR 13 greater aboleth a 17 AC is poor. Inertial Armor would provide a +10 armor bonus to AC at the greater aboleths manifester level. An AC 27 may be a bit high. Sorry, I am thinking as I type. But considering a 13th level fighter with a +2 weapon and a +3 STR would hit with some regularity. It would be right in the wheel house. The mage will have some issue with the SR/PR but not overwhelming. So I am thinking that starting a greater when an aboleth would have gained the extra illusionary ability which is already covered by false sensory input, I am thinking an extra protective psionic power is the way to go. Leaving each of these powers at once per day works, IMHO, as then the slack would be picked up by an actual psionic class. But considering most creatures are used plug and play, a higher AC should be part of the sample creature; AND considering an aboleth is not typically alone, thus making a higher CR enounter and higher level PC's to face off with it. The extra AC doesn't make this aboleth a tank. Now I may be talking circularly, but I needed to free flow my thoughts a bit. Please bear with me. :) In the end, I am comfortable, and believe it necessary, including inertial armor as a 1/day PLA starting at greater aboleth. Additional defensive PLAs may come every 1 or 2 age categories depending on the balance. I would like an alternate take on this mad ramble. Thanks!! Bykov.
