About Truestrike + xbows

Also, how much ammo can an average person carry ? How do you store it ?

Well, I have always looked at it this way. 2 quivers on the back, one on each hip, one on the back of the belt, and one on each thigh, at the extreme. That is 7 quivers, or 70 crossbow bolts, or 140 arrows. This is in the extreme, though.

Unless you're using a custom prestige class that lets you throw 3 heavy crossbows per attack roll. What's the damage on that anyway? ;)

Well, assuming we don't have any PrC abilities that apply, or the throw anything feat, but we DO have three attacks, the simple answer is in the improvised weapon rules, the jist of which is -4 to hit, 10ft range increment, i'd say like 1d6 damage (it's like being hit with a club, no ?) crit on a 20 for x2 dmg.

i don't have my rulebooks, but if we had a high level FTR/Drunken Master with a 20STR we could REALLY start having fun with this. Take throw anything, point-blank shot, quickdraw, rapid shot, weap focus/spec (Thrown hvy X-Bow, duh) Go into a drunken rage, and throw four crossbows a round for 1d6 + 7 (modified STR) +3 (spec/PBS) we get an impressive amount of damage. (for the situation, anyway)

"We're out of arrows for the crossbows, sir, and the orcs are at the gates! What do we do ? " Capt. Spatz shoulders his unloaded crossbow, and picks up three more with a grim, determined look on his face. "Watch this, corpral... just watch this. "
